Yes, we're still "alive" In the timeline of the internet, 19 years is an eternity. Empires have risen and fallen, "Metaverse" hype cycles have boomed and busted, and closed-garden platforms have come and gone.  Yet, here we are. OSgrid turns 19 this year.  But we aren't celebrating by looking back. We are celebrating by powering up. 

Welcome to OSgrid 2026. We have spent the last few months quietly overhauling the very heart of the grid. Loads of new tools and features for Residents. Fresh Assets, Fresh plaza's, Fresh website, new convenient and intregrated tools. 

If you’ve visited the OSgrid website recently, you’ve noticed the change. We’ve moved away from the legacy look into a modern, Deep Space / Dark Mode aesthetic. It reflects what OSgrid actually is: a vast, infinite void of potential, waiting for you to fill it with your stars. 

Technology is nothing without the people who use it. As we move into 2026, we are renewing our focus on our core philosophy: Freedom and Responsibility. We are seeing a new wave of residents—digital artists, AI-assisted scripters, and refugees from restrictive platforms—who are looking for a place where they truly own their creations. 

While the rest of the tech world is trying to figure out how to monetize your attention or lock you into a forced subscription, OSgrid remains what it has always been: The Free, Open Source Metaverse. Where your support is appreciated, not demanded. Cya inworld.
